Correspondence with cities, villages, and townships, 1956-1975.

Requests from officials of various cities, villages, and townships for interpretations of rules, laws, and opinions. Responses that included opinions, made by an assistant or special attorney general, were sent only to representing attorneys. All other inquirers wer referred to private attorneys or were sent prior opinions on similar problems. Letters relating to cities, villages, and townships prior to 1956 are interfiled alphabetically in the general Correspondence (cataloged separately) for each year.
